How to use this budget planner
Start by entering your take-home income, then add recurring and flexible expenses. Set a monthly limit for each category and review the dashboard at the end of the month. Because your entries stay in this browser, you can plan privately without creating an account.
Build a realistic monthly plan
Use your normal net pay rather than gross salary. Include housing, utilities, food, transportation, debt payments, subscriptions, and irregular annual bills.
Turn insights into action
If a category is over budget, compare the amount with your next month target. Small recurring changes can become meaningful annual savings.
Budget planner FAQs
Where is my budget data stored?
Your transactions and category limits are stored in your browser using local storage. PayGauge does not require an account or send these entries to a PayGauge database.
What should I include in a monthly budget?
Include take-home income, fixed bills, variable spending, debt payments, savings contributions, and a buffer for irregular expenses. Reviewing three months of spending can help you choose realistic limits.
How can I use this with the paycheck calculator?
Estimate your net pay with the salary and paycheck calculator, then use that take-home amount as income here. You can also review the calculation methodology to understand the assumptions behind estimates.
Is this financial advice?
No. This is an educational planning tool, not individualized tax, investment, or financial advice. Consider a qualified professional for decisions specific to your circumstances.
