PayGauge Trust & Transparency
Editorial Policy
PayGauge exists to help people understand paychecks and compensation without giving away personal salary data. Our goal is useful, accurate, people-first financial education—not pages created only to attract search traffic.
Who creates PayGauge content
PayGauge is an independent project maintained by its owner. Calculator logic, page content, and updates are reviewed as part of the site maintenance process. We do not invent experts, credentials, testimonials, or research results.
How sources are selected
Tax and payroll claims are checked against official IRS, Social Security Administration, and state tax department materials whenever available. Secondary sources may help explain concepts, but official sources control tax-rate and withholding claims. Source links are added where a reader would benefit from checking the underlying rule.
How updates work
Pages identify the applicable tax year. When official brackets, deductions, wage bases, or state rules change, the calculation model and affected explanations are reviewed. A changed tax year does not by itself mean that every number on a page has changed; material revisions should be made when the underlying rule changes.
Corrections and feedback
If you find a calculation error, broken link, outdated rule, accessibility issue, or unclear explanation, please report the exact page and describe the problem. Corrections are investigated against the primary source and the page is updated when the report is verified.
Automation and original work
Software helps generate calculations, tables, and repetitive navigation, but automation is not a substitute for review. The value of PayGauge is the calculation model, documented assumptions, state-specific explanations, source selection, and a usable interface. We do not copy articles or mass-publish lightly changed text.
